My approach to art is simple: I am here to explore, to seek answers and to embrace the unknown and the unknowable. I see my artwork as an invitation to reflect on everyday situations which I have relocated into other-worldly environments. With humor, I want to evoke familiar feelings experienced in the challenges and obstacles we all face, but then redirect those feelings to the possibilities of alternate endings.
Leaping from childhood to maturity, seems to strip us of our somewhat carefree lives and saddle us with struggle and strife. But if we bring some of the whimsy and gladness of our youth into the demands of adulthood, and face our troubles with humor and fun, we can stand firmly and laugh in the face of darkness.
Just seeing how others respond to something I’ve painted, and watching the joy on their faces when they catch a glimpse of the truth they see in their own lives, gives me a sense that we share a secret, a revelation. I want to make some sort of positive change, and I am searching for that fulfillment, that way of making good use of my time before the inevitable end—and to grasp what it means to be alive, and genuinely, make the world a better place.
Sincerely,
Adam
